With the support of the Hong Kong Disneyland, Lantau District (LTDIST) held a joint counter-terrorism (CT) exercise, codenamed "MAILMERGER", at the theme park on November 30, 2018 to maintain a high level of alertness to terrorist incidents.

The participating parties included Lantau North Division, the Counter Terrorism Response Unit as well as the Police Tactical Unit and the Emergency Unit of New Territories South.

The exercise enhanced the command and co-ordination capability of commanders of specialist and frontline units, strengthened the resilience and expertise of frontline officers in handling terrorist incidents, and boosted co-operation and communication between the Force and the theme park.

LTDIST will continue to conduct exercises regularly to enhance its CT strategy and co-ordination with private organisations to deal with terrorist threats.
