The "Police Mentorship Programme Outreach" (PMPO) was launched last December as a proactive recruitment strategy to inspire high-calibre Hong Kong students from mainland or overseas tertiary institutions to join the Force and serve the community.

Students who are studying or have graduated from these tertiary institutions for not more than two years are welcome to join the PMPO as mentees. After they submit applications to the Recruitment Division, PMPO mentors at inspectorate rank or above who graduated from mainland or overseas tertiary institutions will make arrangements for the qualified mentees to attend activities. The mentors will share their policing knowledge, work experience and challenges with the mentees.

The programme is held in Hong Kong during the students' holidays to facilitate their participation. The qualified mentees will have opportunities to visit police units and participate in physical training and interview workshops to enhance their competitiveness in the recruitment process.
