The 2018-2019 Kowloon City District Road Safety Campaign Carnival cum Award Presentation Ceremony was organised by the Kowloon City District Road Safety Campaign Committee with the support of Kowloon City District (KCDIST) at Carpenter Road Park on January 19.
Over 3 000 participants, including elders, children and their parents, took part in the carnival. The event featured a variety of activities, including a performance by the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol's marching band, dance performances, game booths and an exhibition of police motorcycles and the Robotcop.
The award presentation ceremony was presided by Chairman of the Kowloon City District Council Mr Pun Kwok-wah, Assistant District Officer (Kowloon City) Ms So Yi-ching, Regional Commander Mr Lam Chi-wai and Deputy Regional Commander Mr Lau Tsz-sau of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Kowloon West), KCDIST Commander Lee Nga-lai and Road Safety Officer (Traffic Kowloon West) Yung Pak-kuen.
The prizes for the "Parent-child Colouring Competition for Kindergarten Students", "Road Safety Drawing Competition for Primary School Students" and "Road Safety Slogan Competition for Secondary School Students", held earlier by the Road Safety Campaign Committee, were presented at the ceremony. The competitions were organised to raise students' road safety awareness and spread road safety messages to all walks of life with a view to achieving the vision of "Zero Accidents on the Road, Hong Kong's Goal".
