The Rotary Club of Kowloon Golden Mile presented the Vocational Service Awards to 15 police officers at a ceremony on March 13 in recognition of their devotion to duty in an armed robbery and rescue operations during the passage of super typhoon Mangkhut.


The awardees are Inspector Lam Ho-wa, Sergeant (SGT) Wan Ka-kin, Police Constables (PCs) Ngai Kwok-kui and Lau Pui-kwan from Kwun Tong District; SGTs Luk Hoi-on and Lam Kai-hang as well as PCs Lo Sen-fai, Chan Yiu-kei, Wong Wan-chung, Yau Lung-kit and Chan Wan-chi from Kowloon West Region; and SGT Chan Ka-chun and PCs Hung Kai-kam, Chow Wai-kui and Cheung Hung-lun from Hong Kong Island Region.


Assistant Commissioner (Support) Lam Hiu-tong and other senior commanding officers of the awardees attended the presentation ceremony to show support to and share the joyful moments with the awardees.


Since 2001, the Rotary Club of Kowloon Golden Mile has been presenting the Vocational Service Awards annually to officers of the Police Force, the Fire Services Department and medical authorities in appreciation of their outstanding services and contribution to the community. The criteria for the awards are based on officers' bravery, leadership and devotion to duty. The presentation of the awards affirms the contribution of the awardess and is an encouragement to them.
