A Senior Police Call (SPC) Leadership and Training Camp was held by the SPC and Elderly Engagement Section of the Police Public Relations Branch on March 4 and 5 to foster team spirit and cohesion among SPC members.

Forty-two SPC Captains and SPC Wealth Management Anti-scam Ambassadors participated in the training camp at JPC@Pat Heung. Apart from attending training sessions provided by the camp staff, they also joined three seminars. One of seminars was run by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau to alert the participants of the modus operandi of technology crime and social media traps. Moreover, the Family Conflict and Sexual Violence Policy Unit and the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals CEASE Crisis Centre were invited to conduct a seminar on elderly abuse, for the first time, to enable the participants to better understand the problem, and to provide early intervention or referral to those in need. In addition, the Narcotics Division of the Security Bureau and the Caritas HUGS Centre hosted a seminar to explain the detrimental consequences of taking drugs and urge the participants to remind the young generation to stay away from drugs.

Meanwhile, the participants also visited the Fire and Ambulance Services Education Centre cum Museum to learn about the history of the Fire Services Department and, more importantly, get a deeper understanding of fire safety precautions. Furthermore, the participants visited a revitalised heritage building, "The Mills", in Tsuen Wan to review the development of the textiles industry in Hong Kong, and to learn tour guide skills.

For each training session, some participants were selected as team leaders to assist in logistics, accommodation and other arrangements. The training camp helped strengthen the leadership skills of the participants.
