Six members of the Police Cycling Club (PCC) represented the Force to take part in the Cycling for Health Marathon Challenge 2019 on Lung Wo Road in Central on February 24. Three of them snatched the first runner-up title in the category of public organisations and disciplinary forces of the race.
The event aimed to raise public awareness of cycling safety. After intense competition with strong rivals such as the Fire Services Department, the Correctional Services Department, the Law Society of Hong Kong and other public organisations, the team formed by Police Constables Ngai Kam-ho, Lau Ka-chun and Lau Ka-shing secured the first runner-up position in the race. Secretary for Transport and Housing Mr Frank Chan was on hand to cheer for the participants and present awards to the winning teams.
Chairman of the PCC Mr Chan Chun-fai was delighted with the results. He encouraged the team members to continue to promote the sport and take part in charity events.
All regular, retired, auxiliary and civilian staff members of the Force are welcome to join the PCC. For enquiries, please contact Police Constable Lo Ka-chun on 6011-6369.
