The fifth anniversary ceremony of the Senior Police Call (SPC) Wealth Management and Anti-Investment Scam Ambassadors was co-organised by the Senior Police Call and Elderly Engagement Section, the Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC) and the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) at the Police Headquarters on March 15. A total of 140 Ambassadors attended the event.


Officiating at the ceremony were Chairman of the SPC Central Advisory Board (CAB) cum Regional Commander of Hong Kong Island Kwok Pak-chung, Chairman of the IFEC Mr Lester Huang, Vice Chairman of SPC CAB cum Chief Superintendent of the Police Public Relations Branch Tse Chun-chung and Senior Superintendent of CCB So Man-kuen. Some members of the SPC CAB, including Mr Wu Chor-nam, Mr Lui Kwan-yiu, Mr Ngan Chi-wing, Mr Wong Fan-foung, Mr Suen Yat-hau and Mr Ng Kai-yeung, also attended the event.


In the opening address, Mr Kwok stressed that the Police are committed to working with stakeholders to raise the public's anti-deception awareness, as well as developing partnership with the elderly through the SPC Scheme to promote anti-fraud messages and prevent them from falling prey to deception. He expressed gratitude to the IFEC and the CCB for teaching the Ambassadors the knowledge of wealth management and fraud prevention. He also thanked the Ambassadors for supporting the Police in spreading the concept of prudent wealth management and anti-deception information to other elders.


The officiating guests presented the Anti-Scam Manuscript and Regional Flags to the Ambassadors from six Regions, signifying that the Ambassadors would shoulder the responsibility of disseminating the knowledge of wealth management and anti-fraud tips to other elders.


A video on "Beware of Online Game Token Card Scam", starring Mr Junior Anderson and Ms Lee Si-kei, was broadcast for the first time. Mr Anderson called on the elderly to increase their vigilance of social media scams and ensure the security of their mobile phones. Three artistes, namely Ms Law Lan, Mr Shek Sau and Mr Sam Chan, and some Ambassadors were invited to share their experience of wealth management and knowledge of anti-deception.


In addition, arrangements were made for the Traffic Headquarters and the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau to provide the latest road safety and technology crime information to the Ambassadors.
