Kowloon East (KE) Region held the inauguration ceremony of the second term of KE Happy Teen Committee on April 11, with KE Regional Commander Chan Yee-lai appointing 11 community elites as the Honorary Presidents of the committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Chan thanked the Honorary Presidents for their support to KE Region over the past two years as well as their valuable advice on various activities.

The "Happy Teen" Programme was launched by KE Region in 2017 to foster trust among youths, the Force and the community; encourage young people to participate in activities with teachers, parents, the Force and other community representatives; and inspire youngsters to develop a positive and optimistic mindset with a sense of belonging to society.

Starting from 2018, the target group of the programme has been expanded from secondary school students to primary school students. Non-ethnic Chinese students are also encouraged to participate in Happy Teen activities, including a sports day, a music festival and a community day.
