The detection of the cases showed the importance of co-operation between the public and the Police under Sham Shui Po Hawkers' Charter.
On the same day, Sham Shui Po District Fight Crime Committee and persons-in-charge of a jewellery company also presented pennants to Ho Kai-hin, former Assistant District Commander (Crime) Chan Po-lun and District Crime Squad 1 (DCS 1) of SSPODIST for detecting a case of "Robbery with Pistol-like Object".
The case took place on March 14 during which a culprit armed with a pistol-like object robbed gold ornaments worth over 1.3 million dollars from a jewellery shop at Kweilin Street. DCS 1 conducted a thorough investigation and swiftly arrested three suspects. The team also found a fake pistol and recovered some of the ornaments.
