The 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games was held from March 14 to 21 in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. Senior Inspector Yu Sze-wai was nominated by the Police Sports Council and was selected by the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 Local Organising Committee to represent Hong Kong in the Law Enforcement Torch Run from March 2 to 14 to promote the spirit of the Special Olympics.

Before each Special Olympics World Games, law enforcement officers and athletes from all over the world would join a torch run to carry the "Flame of Hope" in the host region to show care and protection to people with intellectual disabilities.
