Under the arrangements of the Police College, Chief Inspector Mak Ka-po led a 12-member delegation to visit the Singapore Police Force (SPF) from May 27 to 31 to learn about its community policing experience and application of technology in police work.

The delegates visited the SPF Headquarters, the Home Team Academy and the Special Operations Command. They attended briefings given by officers of the SPF on various aspects of policing such as crime prevention, application of technology in policing, training and decision log keeping. The delegation also observed a riot control demonstration by the SPF's Police Tactical Unit and a crowd management operation at a Muslim celebration.

Furthermore, SPF's Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ms Fanny Koh exchanged policing experience with the delegation. Both sides also talked about challenges in law enforcement.

The visit broadened the horizons of the delegates and enhanced understanding and co-operation of the two police forces.
