Wisdom sharing by Assistant Commissioners of Police

Strong leadership and management support are two of the critical success factors of Knowledge Management. In this connection, two Assistant Commissioners (ACPs) were invited to share their knowledge, experience and wisdom with other officers in May.

Retiring ACP (Information Systems) Cho Ming-lung gave a sharing session under the Senior Leaders' Exit Debriefing Series on May 29. He shared with officers his invaluable experience in supervisory responsibility and humanistic work philosophy during his 33 years of service in the Force. At the end of his sharing, Mr Cho wished all the participants a prosperous career and a healthy life.

On the other hand, ACP (Personnel) Chan Joon-sun spoke at a session of the Blue Moon Sharing Series on May 31 about his training experience in a one-year strategic management course at the Royal College of Defence Studies in the United Kingdom. He talked about the importance and formulation of effective strategies, the correlation between one's work and international incidents as well as the role as an ambassador of Hong Kong.

Mr Chan encouraged officers to value every overseas training opportunity. He said overseas training not only broadens officers' international perspectives and their way of thinking, but also enables them to understand the economy, culture and development of other places. This would help them better understand the importance of stability to Hong Kong. The participants found the sharing very enlightening.
