The Support Wing organised a seminar at the Police Headquarters on May 28 to increase Force members' understanding of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and the Code on Access to Information.

Acting Chief Inspector (Force Data and Access to Information Coordination) Lee Yuet-lun presided over the event. He said the seminar gave an overview of common errors and misconceptions in the handling of personal data and information requests, case studies as well as the application of the Ordinance and the Code.

Chief Investigation Officer Ms Kwei Pui-huen and Investigation Officer Mr Wayne Cheung of the Ombudsman as well as Personal Data Officer Mr Lo Dik-fan from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data were invited to give a sharing for over 300 police officers and civilian members of the Force.

The participants said the sharing strengthened their knowledge of handling various kinds of information requests, and enhanced the understanding between the Force and the two agencies.
