Fifty Junior Police Call (JPC) members and six officers of the Police Public Relations Branch, led by Chairperson of JPC Central Advisory Board (CAB) cum Assistant Commissioner (Support) Lam Hiu-tong, went to Beijing and Shandong for a cultural exchange from July 20 to 27. Two members of JPC CAB, Ms Ng Yin-mui and Mr Tong Tai-kam, also joined the delegation as advisors.
On July 21 and 22, the delegates attended the “Meet under the flag” activity with representatives of other youth uniformed groups from Hong Kong. They visited the Great Hall of the People and participated in the national flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square.
In addition, the delegation toured tourist attractions in Beijing and Shandong, including the Mutianyu Great Wall, the Temple of Confucius in Qufu, Daming Lake and Taishan. They also visited Qingdao Municipal Public Security Bureau (PSB) and its command centre. A local special police squad showcased its equipment to the delegates.
The trip enabled the JPC members to get a better understanding of the culture, history and development of the country.
