Nine members of the Junior Police Call (JPC) e-sports cadre participated in an e-sports demonstration competition of the third "China Online Literature + Conference" in Beijing from August 8 to 10.
In addition to joining the demonstration competition with local university students, the JPC cadre members attended the opening ceremony of the third "China Online Literature + Conference" and a sharing session with e-sports industry players. Furthermore, the cadre visited e-sports enterprises in Beijing to gain a better understanding of the development of the e-sports industry on the mainland. The visit not only broadened the horizons of the cadre members, but also provided opportunities for them to communicate with mainland youngsters and to promote the JPC Scheme.
Earlier in February 2018, a pilot e-sports programme was launched for JPC members. It has provided an additional platform for the Police Public Relations Branch to communicate with young people and to develop the participants as young leaders and fight crime partners.
In August this year, the JPC and the School of Professional and Continuing Education of The University of Hong Kong jointly ran a course on "Foundation Certificate in e-Sports Science" again, which is equivalent to Level 2 of the Qualifications Framework. Apart from teaching e-sports knowledge, the course has incorporated elements of the JPC Scheme, including leadership, management and communication.
