The Recruitment Division conducted the Police Mentorship Programme (PMP) Leadership Workshop at the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Headquarters on August 26. Over 70 mentors and mentees, including mentees of Police Mentorship Programme Outreach, participated in the workshop.
The workshop aimed at enhancing the mentees' leadership abilities, resilience to adversity, communication skills and team spirit through inspiring group activities and sharing. Head Mentor cum Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Chan Joon-sun also took part in the event. He encouraged the mentees to actively participate in the activities of the PMP and equip themselves to meet challenges.
The mentees, coming from different tertiary institutions, got to know each other and shared their vision. Not only did they compete in physical fitness challenges, but they also participated in leadership exercises and impromptu talk. These activities enabled them to better understand the challenges and pressure faced by police officers, and helped them plan for their future. The mentors chatted with the mentees to get a deeper understanding of their expectations while the mentees made use of the opportunity to learn from their mentors.
As the PMP Job Attachment Programme will soon come to a close, each of the mentees will submit a report about his or her internship experience. The top three mentees will be invited to present their reports in an award presentation ceremony in October.
