Sixty-eight Senior Police Call (SPC) members from Kowloon East and Kowloon West Regions were appointed as SPC Captains after attending an annual Captain Training Day organised by the Senior Police Call and Elderly Engagement Section of the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) at JPC@Pat Heung on September 27.

The training aimed to enhance the leadership of the SPC members, thereby enabling them to lead other SPC members to join hands with the Police to fight crime and promote road safety messages. The programme covered leadership training and elderly seminars. Officers of JPC@Pat Heung designed training activities to strengthen the SPC members' leadership and communication skills as well as teamwork. Meanwhile, representatives of various organisations were invited to speak on topics related to the elderly.

On the training day, officers of JPC@Pat Heung led the SPC members to participate in ice-breaking games to boost the members' cohesion and communication. The members also took part in adventure activities to take turns to play the role of a leader to strengthen their team spirit. Meanwhile, representatives from the Department of Health explained to the SPC members the usage of Health Care Vouchers while representatives of the Narcotics Division of the Security Bureau talked about the harmful effects of drugs so that the SPC members could help spread anti-drug messages to their relatives and friends. All the SPC members found the training very useful.
