The Security Equipment Display Room at the Police Headquarters has attracted the patronage of numerous organisations and groups since its refurbishment in 2014. The Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) invited Senior Police Call (SPC) members of Wan Chai District to visit the Display Room on September 6. The visit was covered by the production crew of Police Magazine.
Under the guidance of CPB officers, the SPC members were introduced to different security facilities, including the intruder alarm system and the closed-circuit television (CCTV) system. The SPC members also tried activating a domestic alarm system to understand how the system detects unauthorised entry into premises and alerts residents or the security company. This enabled the SPC members to learn more about the operation of the system and the importance of domestic security. The CPB officers also demonstrated good quality theft-resistant locks and wooden doors to enhance the SPC members' knowledge of security products.
The production crew of Police Magazine interviewed the SPC members after the visit. The interviewees were impressed with the security facilities in the Display Room, saying that the 260 security products on display were easy to understand. They said they would help disseminate crime prevention messages to their family members and friends.
Highlights of the visit will be broadcast on Police Magazine on December 4 and 6.
