Retiring Regional Commander of Kowloon West (RC KW) Cheuk Hau-yip gave a sharing session under the Senior Leaders' Exit Debriefing Series on January 31. He shared with over 80 officers his invaluable experience garnered over 37 years of police service.


With rich experience in crime investigation and operations, Mr Cheuk shared his innovative and strategic mindset on how to frame a problem and create a feasible solution in achieving the goal. He also talked about his unforgettable experience in Operation TIDERIDER during which he provided assistance to minors to get home safely to contain a barrage of violence at a university in Tsim Sha Tsui. He mentioned that police officers would face difficulties and challenges from time to time, but they should remain determined and resilient, never give up, and stand united in "Serving Hong Kong with Honour, Duty and Loyalty".


Mr Cheuk witnessed the development of the Force throughout his over 37-year long police career. He reminded young commanding officers to uphold integrity and live the Force values at all times, and take accountability with courage to rise to challenges. The sharing session was inspiring and all participants enjoyed a fruitful afternoon.
