The prize presentation ceremony of 2019-2020 Eastern District (EDIST) Outstanding Security Guard Award Scheme was held on January 18. The event was organised by Eastern District Fight Crime Committee (EDFCC), co-organised by Eastern District Office and sponsored by Eastern District Council to commend the security services industry's contribution to the community.

A total of 149 individuals or units were awarded in the award scheme. They actively supported and assisted the police in spreading crime prevention messages, and assisted the police in rescue and arrest operations, giving much contribution in preventing crime and protecting their clients' property.

Guests attending the ceremony included Deputy Commander of EDIST Yau Sin-man; Chairman of EDFCC, Dr Yeung Wai-hong; Vice-chairman of EDFCC, Dr Liu Kam-hing ; Assistant District Officer (Eastern), Mr Lo Cheuk-lun; and Chairman of EDFCC's Publicity and Community Education Campaign Working Group, Mr Lee Tak-kuen.

During the event, Regional Crime Prevention Office of Hong Kong Island was invited to hold a seminar on crime prevention. The seminar enabled the Force to share the latest anti-crime information with frontline security personnel and strengthen its communication with the industry.
