With the aim of raising the morale of frontline officers, Wan Chai District (WCHDIST), together with the Wan Chai District Office and Wan Chai District Fight Crime Committee (WCH DFCC), jointly organised the annual Outstanding Police Officers Contest to recognise officers who have performed exceptionally in the past year. The commendation ceremony was held at Wan Chai Police Station on February 28.

A total of 243 officers were commended for their outstanding performance. Commander of WCHDIST Chan Sze-tat, dignitaries including Chairman Mr Cheung Yung-pong and Vice-chairman Mr Yeung Ka-shing of WCH DFCC, Convenor Ms Ng Yuen-ching and Deputy Convenor Mr Wong Ka-yeung of the Commendation Ceremony Preparation Committee attended the ceremony to show their support. Both District Crime Squad Team 1 and District Anti-triad Section Team 2 of WCHDIST won the Gold Award for their outstanding work performance. Representatives of these units shared their work experience at the ceremony. Mr Chan Sze-tat made a closing speech to express his gratitude to the WCH DFCC members and the Wan Chai District Office for their support.
