In line with the objective of Tsuen Wan District (TWDIST)'s "Project RESTORE" to connect with the community and reinforce public confidence in the Force, officers and members of the public collaboratively prepared anti-epidemic supplies amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

In early March, a team of 40 people, comprising officers from TWDIST and public donors, worked together to pack face masks and refill bottles with disinfectant hand gel, primarily for distribution to frontline officers, including those stationed at the quarantine camp at Tso Kung Tam Outdoor Recreation Centre. To add a personal touch, labels with unique, handwritten messages of support for the Force were affixed on each of the hand gel bottles.

TWDIST Commander Kerry Carew, reiterated the significance of gaining mutual understanding through reciprocal partnership in the District's policing approach. This is represented in TWDIST's insignia, which is based on the concept "Police and public joining hand-in-hand". He also said that refilling reusable hand gel bottles could send a positive message of promoting waste reduction.

Ms Au, a public donor participating in the event, said that the event had improved her understanding of the implacable risk of coronavirus exposure during police work. She added that she was pleased to be able to take substantive action to show her appreciation of the courage and dedication of police officers working for the good of society. She was impressed by the camaraderie among officers in TWDIST and was confident that the collective efforts of the Force and the public could help overcome the coronavirus threat.
