Four videos produced by the Force won one Gold, one Silver and two Bronze Awards in the international Questar Awards 2021. The awards were a recognition of officers’ creativity and skills.
Lantau District
In view of the prevailing crime trend during winter precaution period, Lantau District (LTDIST) produced a series of crime prevention publicity videos. One of the videos on anti-pickpocketing won the Gold Award in the “Non-Profit Organizations – Public Awareness Category”. The video unveils the common modi operandi of pickpockets to alert the public to safeguard their personal belongings.
Pat Heung Division of Yuen Long District
The “Prevention of Naked Chat Scam” video produced by Pat Heung Division (PHDIV) won the Silver Award in “Non-profit Organizations – Police Category”. This is one of the videos designed under “Project SMILES”, which illustrates the modus operandi, risk and consequence of online deception to strengthen the youth’s awareness against naked chat scam.
Learning Technologies Division of the Hong Kong Police College
Two videos produced by the Learning Technologies Division, namely “Learning Technologies in the Hong Kong Police College” and a trailer of the Police Museum’s crime case video namely “The Vanished Corpse”, were awarded Bronze Awards under the “Non-Profit Organizations – Police Category” and “Non-Profit Organizations – In-house Production Category” respectively.
