In the past year, the Information Systems Wing (ISW) has launched 16 Force mobile applications including the Beat App, P-chat, eDrive, eSurvey, etc., alongside the establishment of the Force’s Dark Fibre Network and WiFi 6 wireless network. These projects aim to strengthen the digital infrastructure of the Force and prepare officers for meeting emerging challenges of the digital age.
While digitalisation brings about many benefits, it also increases the risk of information security. ISW has therefore produced a new programme, the “IT Capture” Series, to enrich officers’ knowledge of digital policing, enhance their understanding of various digital solutions and raise their awareness of information security.
In the “IT Capture” Series, four “IT Operatives” from ISW will introduce various Force applications and electronic systems, and share practical IT tips and information security knowledge through lively short videos, with a view to developing officers’ policing capabilities in the digital era. Each episode of “IT Capture” will be uploaded to the Force’s internal video sharing platform “P-TV” every Wednesday.
