The Police Mentorship Programme (PMP) Inauguration Ceremony 2022/23 held at the Police Officers’ Club on June 9 and attended by the Head Mentor cum Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Chan Man-tak, the Deputy Head Mentor cum Deputy Director 1 of Hong Kong Police College Leung Shun, representatives of 13 local and mainland universities, as well as over 300 mentors and mentees, was live broadcast online for participation of mentees in the Mainland and overseas.

The ceremony incorporated appointment of mentors for the new session, a drone show, a Police Band performance and viewing of an introductory video. Ex-mentees also shared their frontline experience and communicated with the mentees.

This year marks the 19th anniversary of PMP with the theme “Serving Hong Kong – Unite Our Talents”. A series of activities, including visits to different formations of the Force, interview workshops, a summer camp and internship programmes, will be held for mentees to gain a deeper insight into police work. Over 150 internships ranging from policing to crime prevention in various branches of the Force have been arranged for mentees in this year’s summer holiday. It is hoped that the mentees can lay a solid foundation for joining the Force in future through serving our society during their internship.
