Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) and Kwun Tong District Fight Crime Committee (KTDFCC) organised the first cycle of Decoding Crime Investigations activities at Police Detective Training Centre on August 27. 16 students from Maryknoll Secondary School, Fukien Secondary School and Ning Po No. 2 College took part in the activity. District Commander of SMPDIST Tse Tsui-yan, KTDFCC Chairman Mr Lo Yan-lai together with other members, and Principal of Ning Po No. 2 College Mr Leung Chiu-yin attended the event.
During the activity, the participants were divided into teams to conduct investigation of a murder case in the capacity of crime investigation officers. All the teams successfully completed the task, with Maryknoll Secondary School winning the championship. SMPDIST officers also exchanged their views and experience with the attendees for them to know more about the Force and enhance police public relationship. The participants could experience the importance of coming forward to assist the police in crime detection by providing information. The students attending the activity would be appointed to be Crime Prevention Ambassadors of SMPDIST to assist the Force in promoting messages of law-abiding, crime prevention and fighting crime at school.
