To support the Force’s Strategic Direction of “Embracing the use of technology for policing in the digital age”, the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) has launched the all-in-one technology crime investigation platform e-Check One-stop Platform+ (e-COP+) since October 18 to facilitate frontline officers in obtaining crucial digital evidence swiftly during technology crime investigations.

CSTCB introduced the investigative support platform e-COP for the first time in October 2021. Its six features, namely Domain Check, IP Address Check, Email Header Analysis, Photo Geolocation, Live Website Capture and Website Archive, are available for use on Force desktop computers. To date, there have been over 80 000 searches, with Domain and IP Address checks being the most popular features. To make it more convenient for frontline officers to access the platform anytime and anywhere, CSTCB has launched the enhanced version e-COP+, which is now available on all Force-issued mobile devices equipped with Departmental Portal Mobile Launcher. Four new features, which include Bulk Domain and IP Address Check (both up to 100 per query), Shortened URL Check and Photo Metadata Check, have been added.

The successful launch of e-COP+ is attributed to the valuable input provided by crime officers from New Territories South, Yuen Long District and Wong Tai Sin District who participated in the pilot scheme. An introductory video has been uploaded to P-TV for officers’ reference. A series of training workshops will also be hosted by CSTCB.
