Representatives of the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF), together with law enforcement officers from Macao, started a five-day visit in Guangdong Province on October 9, featuring the first delegation of Hong Kong and Macao Police Training and Exchange Programme in Guangdong Province. Chief Inspector Chan Sau-yuk led a group of 20 HKPF officers from the Patrol Sub-units, District Investigation Teams and Report Rooms to join the ten Macao law enforcement officers.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Vice Mayor of Shaoguan Mr Zhang Yan. Professor Chen Wenli from Party School of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of CPC delivered a lecture on “Innovative development of Lingnan culture from the perspective of cultural confidence”. The delegation then visited various museums and attractions to learn the history of our country. Vice Mayor of Qingyuan Mr Lei Hu received the delegation and shared his experience with the delegates, who felt greatly benefited. Subsequently, the delegation visited police stations in Shaoguan, Qingyuan, and Zhaoqing to understand the strategies and perspectives on crowd management, river law enforcement and public services. Through mutual exchange and learning, the officers’ knowledge of police work has been enhanced, and collaboration among police forces in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been promoted.
