The Identification Bureau (IB) has won the Testing and Certification Manpower Development Corporate Award given by the Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification for two consecutive sessions. Based on the gold award granted last session, the adjudication panel reaffirmed IB’s success in talent training and professional development by granting it the highly esteemed Platinum Award this year. In addition, Chief Inspector of Advanced Technology Section Dr Tan Tung-fai was presented with the Excellent Testing and Certification Professional Award under the Senior Professional sub-group.
Senior Superintendent (SSP) of IB Chan Sing-cheong received the award from the Permanent Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Mr Mak Tak-wai during the award presentation ceremony held on December 4, 2023. Chan Sing-cheong emphasised the paramount importance of talent training in inheriting professional skills, “Faced with today’s technological challenges, law enforcement agencies and courts require more professional, precise and prompt fingerprint examination for forensic services. We must strengthen our training and development to support frontline investigation work.”
