Kowloon West (KW) was invited by the University of Macau for the first time to join the Big Data Analytics in Law Enforcement Symposium held between December 5 and 6, 2023 to introduce how KW’s Project PEELER made use of big data analysis to identify case hotspots for enhanced police deployment, as well as exchanging views with Macao law enforcement officers on the application of data in different regions.

The symposium was moderated by Prof Jiang Bo of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Macau. Members of the Hong Kong delegation included officers from KW and Information Systems Wing. During the symposium, the Unitary Police Service of Macao arranged the delegation to visit Public Security Police Force Nam Van Sub-commissariat / Tourist Police Service Centre to exchange working experience with the local law enforcement officers.
