In the 45th South East Asian Shooting Championship held in Taipei in mid-November, 2023, Commandant of Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) Yang Joe-tsi led the Hong Kong Shooting Team to bring back one gold, two silver and four bronze medals. The Commandant, Auxiliary Sergeant Man Chun-kit, Police Constable Lee Wai-kin and other members got one silver and two bronze team medals.

The Commandant said that it was difficult for the team to order correct ammunitions for practice and competition subsequent to the 2019 riots and the pandemic. However, through persistent dry drill, the team members enhanced their muscle memory and consolidated the stability of their triggering action, resulting in good achievements in the competition.
