Officers from the Emergency Unit (EU) of the five Regions gathered at the Police Tactical Unit Headquarters on December 2, 2023 to participate in the Inter-EU Challenge Event - Wimbush Trophy, organised by the EU Kowloon East (KE) this year after a five-year hiatus. The event was made up of four competitions, all of which were related to the daily trainings and charters of EU.

After intense competition, EU KE emerged as the champion. Two new awards were introduced - the Most Popular Award and the Best Support Team, which were won by EU Kowloon West (KW) and EU New Territories South respectively. Senior Superintendent of Major Incidents Bureau Leung Ming-leung, the guest of honour presenting the awards, praised the teams for their excellent team spirit and professional capabilities. He also encouraged all EU officers to continue equipping themselves proactively.

The Wimbush Trophy was firstly held in 1995 by the then Superintendent of EU KW Charlie Wimbush, aiming to foster communication and teamwork among EU personnel across the Regions.
