The Smart Government Innovation Lab of the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer organised the award presentation ceremony for the “Innovative Application with AI” Innovation Competition on March 15. The Intelligent Electro-optical Sensors and Cameras Search System submitted by Support Bureau of Marine (MAR) excelled among 71 proposals from 22 teams and attained a Merit Award.

MAR’s system makes use of AI, image analysis and other technologies to assist in controlling and co-ordinating network cameras to search the surface of the sea and perform real-time analysis of captured images to detect individuals in distress, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of maritime search and rescue operations.
