The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) and the Government Computer Emergency Response Team (GovCERT.HK) co-hosted the 8th Inter-Departmental Cyber Security Drill on April 25 to enhance the awareness and overall responsiveness of various government departments to cyberattacks.
During her opening speech, Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Chung Wing-man emphasised that in the face of escalating cyberattacks, the drill would focus on strengthening participants’ capabilities to respond to various types of cyber threats, thereby comprehensively enhancing the government’s overall strength in preventing, detecting, and responding to cyberattacks.
The drill adopted a hybrid online and offline mode, attracting participation of over 250 IT personnel from 70 government departments. It featured realistic training systems that allowed participants to exchange insights on various cyberattack scenarios and engage in incident response and investigation.
This exercise demonstrated the government’s determination and capability to maintain cybersecurity. CSTCB will continue its collaboration with GovCERT.HK and various government departments to fortify the government’s cybersecurity defences.
