The first Chinese Woman Superintendent Lui Che-ying passed away at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on May 3 due to illness at the age of 83.

Joining the Force in 1959 as Probationary Sub-Inspector, Lui Che-ying was promoted to Senior Inspector in 1967 and Superintendent in 1971. She retired in 1980 with numerous commendations received during her service.
