The Animal Watchers Programme (AWP) has been endeavouring to enlist animal lovers’ efforts in the community. The promotion truck tour campaign, Community Mobile Classroom, was first organised in 2021. The promotion trucks visited 20 locations in the territory and attracted participation of nearly 5 000 citizens. This year, the Community Mobile Classroom 2.0 was launched with donations from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The campaign was conducted between April 26 and May 10 in 14 schools and pet-friendly public places in the territory. Through interesting video games, students and the public were educated to assist in reporting animal-related cases and take care of the livelihood of pets.

Commissioner Siu Chak-yee officiated at the opening ceremony held at Pat Heung Central Primary School on April 26. In addition to student singing performances and a quiz game, a short play featuring the Commissioner and the four AWP Spokesdogs, i.e. Sunny, Zander, Goofy and Happy, was staged. All the participants expressed that the activities were educational and promised to disseminate messages on love and care for animals.
