To heighten public awareness of road safety and alert its importance, Kowloon East (KE), partnered with social stakeholders in the Region, has launched the first region-level committee on road safety activities, the KE Road Safety Activities Committee. The first meeting of which was held on April 23. Honorary Consultant of the Committee cum Regional Commander (RC) of KE Dr Law Yuet-wing made an opening speech at the meeting chaired by Executive Director of the Committee cum Deputy RC of KE Mark Anstiss and Deputy Executive Director of the Committee cum Senior Superintendent of Traffic KE Yu Wai-leung.


Deputy Commissioner of Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol Mr Chu Chi-ming was elected to be the Chairperson, with Mr Fong Yik-chung, Dr Sze Tung-po, Dr Chu Chun-ho, Mr Lau Yan-wing and Mr Chong Yue-kwan as Vice-Chairpersons. The 37 members will collaborate with Traffic KE, advise the Force and assist in disseminating messages and staging campaigns on road safety. The Committee is now working with Traffic KE on the Inauguration Ceremony cum Road Safety Carnival to be held in July.
