To increase the awareness of scam prevention among local residents, Yuen Long District (YLDIST) initiated the anti-deception project YLDIST Anti-Deception Alliance in collaboration with community stakeholders to launch different anti-deception publicity campaigns by adopting the “3Ms Strategies”, i.e. Mass, Multi-agency and Multifaceted. The kick-off ceremony of the alliance was held on May 8 with the attendance of over 150 community stakeholders. District Commander of YLDIST Chan Kam-kuk explained the project and invited local stakeholders to become members of the alliance.

On May 1, with the support of YLDIST Junior Police Call and Senior Police Call Honorary President Councils, YLDIST produced its anti-deception themed “fa pao” and joined the Tin Hau Festival Parade. Fans and balloons featuring the anti-scam mascot “The Little Grape” were distributed along the parade, which attracted over 70 000 participants.
