In response to the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Marine (MAR) launched the MAR Occupational Safety and Health Week 2024 between April 28 and May 3 to promote occupational safety and health (OSH) messages to frontline officers through a series of OSH initiatives.

Sea Standards Division of MAR conducted case sharing session, Lessons Learnt, with frontline officers regularly for analysing past OSH accidents to prevent recurrence of such cases. Moreover, MAR introduced for the first time the work place OSH initiative, Toolbox Talk, for frontline supervisors and crew members to discuss different maritime OSH topics before commencing work so that maritime work risks could be reduced.
