To strengthen the understanding of policing work among non-ethnic Chinese (NEC), Kwai Tsing District (KWTDIST) organised a visit to Kwai Chung Police Station for over 30 NEC members of its Project Go Front on May 18. District Commander (DC) of KWTDIST Au Yeung Mun-yee and Deputy DC of KWTDIST John Carroll shared the project objective with the participants, with officers from Platoon 2 of Emergency Unit (EU) of New Territories South introducing the EU’s equipment. An NEC officer from EU also shared the challenges he encountered during his growth in Hong Kong and how he overcame the barriers and joined the Force.

KWTDIST has launched Project Go Front for NEC communities since 2014. The project aims to strengthen NEC’s understanding of policing work, increase the communication and integration between NEC and local citizens, encourage NEC to fight crime alongside the Force, and help those aspiring to join the Force achieve their goal.
