The Director of Crime and Security Yip Wan-lung and Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Chung Wing-man led officers of the Narcotics Bureau and five graduates from the Leadership Institute on Narcotics (L.I.O.N.) to visit the Narcotics Control Bureau, Ministry of Public Security (NCB MPS) in Beijing between June 20 and 22.


The L.I.O.N. graduates introduced the L.I.O.N. programme and anti-drugs publicity efforts of Hong Kong to officials of NCB MPS and exchanged experience with anti-drugs volunteers among local undergraduates to learn about each other’s roles in anti-drugs public education. The delegation also visited the Lin Zexu drug prevention education base in Beijing to understand the significance and implications of Humen’s opium destruction.
