Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, who has been appointed a member of the Inter-departmental Task Force on Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP), conducted a site inspection of KTSP on June 13 to understand potential management challenges and plan for future policing work.
Having examined the crowd management and traffic needs for various types of events, the Commissioner offered his insight to the officers on related matters. To complement the task force’s main targets, namely ensuring timely completion of KTSP, maximising its economic benefits and providing the necessary ancillary support, the Commissioner directed Kowloon East and Sau Mau Ping District to extend their full support to the relevant government bureaux, departments and event organisers in developing a co-ordination system for crowd management and transportation arrangements according to the nature, scale and number of participants of the events to ensure that citizens can enter and exit KTSP safely and orderly.
