Given the upward trend in deception associated with the insurance sector recently, Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Chung Wing-man and officers form the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) convened a luncheon meeting on July 17 with representatives from the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) and ten insurance companies to enhance communication and co-operation.

During the meeting, Superintendent of CCB Lee Wai-see shared the latest anti-deception information with the attendees. The officers also exchanged views with representatives of the industry to explore more effective mechanisms for safeguarding customers and employees. All the attendees expressed their willingness to join their efforts in combatting scams and protecting the public. Deputy Chairman of HKFI Mr Ellick Tsui said, “The insurance sector is very eager to participate in combatting scams, and will leverage the insurance network to disseminate anti-deception messages to the community.”
