Extreme weather occurs frequently in recent years. To accommodate the geographical characteristics of the District, Border District (BORDIST) has established the Inclement Weather Response Cadre (IWRC) and held its kick-off ceremony on July 30. District Commander of BORDIST Lau King-lun presented letters of appointment to IWRC members. While sharing his previous operational experience and salient points on inter-departmental collaboration for coping with extreme weather, he reminded the members that they should be well prepared in advance and get ready to save life and property.

Officers from Lok Ma Chau Division, Ta Kwu Ling Division and Sha Tau Kok Division, who need to go through selection before joining IWRC, are required to receive flood operation training offered by the Fire Services Department (FSD) to enhance their operational efficiency and competency in handling incidents during extreme weather.
