The Police Children Cultural Exchange Programme 2024 to Shaanxi Province jointly organised by the United Front Work Department of Xi’an Municipal Committee in conjunction with the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in HKSAR and assisted by the Force’s Personnel Services and Staff Relations (PS&SR) Branch took place between July 22 and 27. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee led 50 police children aged between 12 and 18 to attend the inauguration ceremony held in Xi’an. They visited museums and cultural heritage sites such as the Terracotta Army. The children also went to Yan’an to visit the Yangjialing Revolutionary Site and Yan’an Revolutionary Memorial Hall to foster national identity and patriotism.

For encouraging participants to reflect on their experiences and commending outstanding members, PS&SR Branch hosted a group presentation and award ceremony on August 16. The Commissioner officiated at the ceremony and presented awards. He remarked that he was delighted to witness the growth of the children and reminded them to cherish every opportunity for exchange studies.
