Crime Wing arranged Chief Inspector Lau Lai-kwan to lead a delegation of 14 officers from various District Investigation Teams to visit the Indonesian National Police (INP) from July 31 to August 2.


The delegation visited the International Relations Division, Cyber Crime Investigation Directorate and various formations of INP. The delegates also shared experiences and initiatives with local officers in regard to techniques for investigation of technology crimes and publicity for anti-deception. The visit deepened the delegates’ understanding of policing in Indonesia and provided a platform for introducing the work of the Hong Kong Police Force to its Indonesian counterpart.


Australia


The Police College arranged Superintendent Ng Ka-wing and Chief Inspector Cheung Hau-yee to attend the Graduate Certificate in Applied Management (Policing and Emergency Services) held by the Australian Institute of Police Management in Manly, Australia between June 17 and 28, together with 24 officers from local law enforcement, intelligence and regulatory agencies.


The programme combined face-to-face sessions and online self-paced modules. Prior to the training in Australia, the two officers had to complete the 32-week distance-learning modules. During the face-to-face sessions, the trainees studied critical and ethical thinking in policing management, skills for examining environmental trends and administrative policy decision etc. through seminars, topical presentations and thesis writing. They also exchanged skills for policing duties with other trainees during the programme.
