On August 17, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Junior Police Call (JPC) cum JPC Summer Camp Kick-off Ceremony was held at the JPC Permanent Activity Centre and Integrated Youth Training Camp at Pat Heung. Chief Secretary for Administration (CS) Mr Chan Kwok-ki, Secretary for Security (S for S) cum JPC Chief Honorary President Mr Tang Ping-keung, Commissioner cum JPC Deputy Chief Honorary President Siu Chak-yee and Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) (ACP PR) cum Chairperson of the JPC Central Advisory Board Chan Sze-tat officiated at the kick-off ceremony.


The AGM was chaired by ACP PR and attended by more than 170 guests. Certificates of appreciation were presented to 17 JPC Honorary Presidents, 25 JPC school club representatives, three JPC school club supervisors and 18 voluntary instructors to express gratitude to them for their support to JPC. Moreover, six Advanced Leaders received Outstanding Awards.


The Kick-off Ceremony of the Summer Camp was immediately held after the AGM. About 220 JPC members participated in the camp, which had been extended from two days and one night to four days and three nights to provide more opportunities for participants to experience various activities. This year, the activities included group adventure training and competitive games with elements of policing knowledge and investigation to enhance the participants’ resilience and team spirit, as well as promoting crime fighting and prevention messages among JPC members.


In his speech, S for S mentioned that this year marked the 50th anniversary of JPC. He recalled different stages of his journey with the JPC, from his initial role as a member to his current role as the Chief Honorary President. He was happy to see JPC echo with the country’s development direction of “new quality productive forces” by organising more technology-related activities for young people to cultivate their innovative thinking. ACP PR said in his speech that JPC had organised nearly 30 exchange tours this summer for over 1 000 members to visit various Mainland cities. He hoped that all sectors of society would keep joining hands to cultivate more outstanding youths who will “Be a Leader - Fight Crime Together”.
