Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) (ACP PR) Chan Sze-tat was invited to attend the inaugural Global Community Policing Conference held in Singapore between August 21 and 23. He served as a speaker and a panelist in the conference. Organised by the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the conference with its theme “Bridging Global Partners, Advancing Community Policing” attracted participation of around 200 delegates from 31 countries.


The conference featured speeches and panel discussions focused on community policing, exploring the latest community strategies and challenges and sharing the best practices in community policing with an aim to foster collaboration among police forces worldwide. The participants then visited the Anti-Scam Command in Singapore and observed a counter-terrorism exercise codenamed “Heartbeat” to gain insights into the strategies and countermeasures of the SPF against deception and terrorism.


ACP PR introduced the Junior Police Call and Senior Police Call schemes to the delegates and participated in a panel discussion on the engagement strategies of police with youths and seniors. Together with SPF’s Senior Assistant Commissioner cum Director of Public Affairs Department Mr Tan Tin-wee, ACP PR attended a media interview. They shared their experiences in jointly producing anti-deception videos for the first time, and expressed their commitment to strengthening co-operation in preventing and combatting deception.
