Since the formation of the Rural Patrol Cadre (RPC) of Tseung Kwan O District (TKODIST) in August last year, members of RPC have been sparing no effort in keeping rural burglars at bay. They have located an active burglary syndicate along a track near Little Hawaii Falls and removed the ribbons there, which were used as navigation markers in the forest by burglars. To recognise RPC’s contribution, District Commander of TKODIST Mak Man-yu, who officiated at the Second Appointment Ceremony of RPC, presented a certificate to the Officer in Charge of RPC, Station Sergeant Lam Hei-keung, and commended the RPC members for their outstanding performance.

In the first two quarters of this year, the number of burglary cases in TKODIST reduced by 15% when compared with the same period of last year. Building on this success, the strength of RPC has expanded since August 2024, with more regular and auxiliary officers being appointed. The coverage of RPC operations has also been expanded to suburban areas.
