To promote communication between the Force and non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) groups, Hong Kong Island (HKI) held the first NEC Community Leaders Meeting on August 27. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Regional Commander of HKI Lam Hung-chuen. Seven NEC community leaders from different Districts of HKI attended the meeting upon invitation.
Lam Hung-chuen thanked the NEC community leaders for supporting the Force in promoting the engagement of NEC communities. He also asked them to encourage their friends and relatives to download Scameter+. The Police Community Relations Officers from the HKI Districts shared with the attendees the collaboration events they had launched for NEC communities in the past. Officers from the Regional Intelligence Unit introduced the latest crime figures and crimes related to teenagers, followed by Regional Crime Prevention Officer of HKI providing crime-prevention information. The attendees praised the Force for communicating with NEC groups proactively to help NEC integrate into society. The attendees also opined that the Force’s anti-deception publicity efforts were effective.
